Törggelen around the Seiser Alm - South Tyrol

Törggelen is an old custom in South Tyrol. In autumn, it invites you for a hike through the colourful natural landscape including a stop at a farm or a wine tavern along the way. At Törggelen around the Seiser Alm, you can combine hiking in the colourful autumn landscape with culinary enjoyment in rustic cellars, listed farms, a mill and traditional, yet modern “Buschenschänke”. The Törggelen farms serve roasted chestnuts, sweet must and young wine. Typical dishes at Törggelen in South Tyrol are also Kaminwurzen (sausage), Speck and Schüttelbrot (hard bread), Schlutzkrapfen (similar to ravioli), dumplings or a hearty plate of meat as main course. Sweet fried pastries (Krapfen) round off the Törggelen fun!

Törggelen walks through the autumn-coloured countryside also enjoy great popularity. One classic autumn walk is the Oachner Höfeweg, the farm trail of Völser Aicha, which leads you uphill and down through vineyards, chestnut groves and woods. On the walk round the small lakes of the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm, you experience a wealth of variety and can stop in to see a fully-functioning mill or a farm museum.
