We are delighted that you and your four-legged friend are spending your holiday in our holiday region. The Seiser Alm holiday region is a nature park, protected landscape, and a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. The villages are surrounded by woodland which is home to a large number of wild animals. It is, therefore, of the utmost importance to treat the countryside with respect, including when you are with your dog.
In keeping with the guidelines of the “Respect the Mountains” campaign, we would like to point out the importance of the following:
- Always keep your dog on a lead.
- Help yourself to bags from the numerous dog-toilet stations. All dog owners must carry waste bags with them, clear up any dog excrement immediately, and dispose of the bags in a rubbish bin; bags must not, under any circumstances, be disposed of in the countryside! Please do not use the dog-toilet stations as rubbish bins.
- It is of the utmost importance to remove dog excrement from fields. Farmers grow food and fodder crops in these fields. If dog excrement ends up in cow fodder, it can cause cattle to miscarry their calves.
