Völser Kuchlkastl

The “Kuchlkastl” (German dialect for kitchen pantry) was well received by both local connoisseurs and holiday guests from the very beginning. Finally the cooks and innkeepers dared to surprise their guests with something extraordinary. They rummaged through old cookbooks, took long forgotten recipes, reinterpreted dishes, giving them new splendour through their refined way of preparation and loving presentation. Thus, homemade soup, buckwheat noodles and mutton became popular again. With their “Kuchlkastl”, the Völs innkeepers rely on the harmonious combination of good food and good wine with a unique supporting programme offered by autumn nature. The original purpose of the initiative of the restaurateurs of Völs was to extend the season, but it was mainly guests who benefited from it, who for the occasion, were served new culinary pleasures.
