Barrier free in the Dolomites region Seiser Alm

Vacation without barriers

Accessibility means: no obstacles – neither in buildings nor in spaces, neither in communication nor in information. It means being free on vacation to do and experience whatever you desire, without limitations. The Dolomites region Seiser Alm is an ideal destination for people with disabilities and for an accessible vacation. With specially equipped accommodations, barrier-free paths and activities, the region is highly accessible, in summer and winter.

Barrier free arrival in South Tyrol

In South Tyrol, great emphasis is placed on making public transportation accessible to everyone, including people with limited mobility, families with strollers, and travelers with luggage. Accessibility is also an important aspect of sustainability. By expanding accessible transportation options, more people can use public transport, which helps reduce individual traffic and thereby protects the environment.

In recent years, many platforms have been raised, and elevators have been installed. Modern low-floor buses and trains, as well as designated spaces for wheelchairs and strollers, are in operation. Most buses have reserved spaces for wheelchairs and strollers, which are clearly marked. Wheelchairs and strollers must be secured during the journey. If the reserved space is already occupied, no additional passengers with wheelchairs or strollers can board for safety reasons.

In all public transport buses, people with limited mobility and families with strollers must pay the full fare. Blind and visually impaired people can use public transportation free of charge with the appropriate identification. Important: People with disabilities receive reductions or free travel only with a valid disability card.
